In my experience summer brings with it a plethora of baby showers. I’m always on the lookout for a great gift and don’t often buy the same thing twice. (Variety is the spice of life - and gift giving!) If you prefer all-natural gifts and have already done the beechwood teether or bamboo onesie, try the
Wee Wild Baby Gift Box.
The Wee Wild Baby Gift Box features all-natural, organic baby products from A Wild Soapbar. A Wild Soap Bar’s products are biodegradable, cruelty free, minimally packaged and do not contain synthetic fragrance oils, preservatives, petroleum products, FD&C colorants or dyes, parabens, phthalates, sodium lauryl or laureth sulfates, antibacterial triclosan, TEA or other harmful chemicals. You can’t have too much “pure” when it comes to infant bath and body products!
Included in the Wee Wild Baby Gift Box is their Wee Wild Baby Soap, a pure and mild organic castile soap infused with healing organic calendula, organic aloe, and organic yarrow and lightly scented with a relaxing lavender essential oil blend. This smooth, creamy soap is perfect for baby’s delicate skin. You’ll also find their Wee Wild Baby Balm, a balm enriched with wild yarrow and organic calendula and used for diaper rash, chapped cheeks, dry skin and flaky scalps. Like their soap, the balm is scented with a lavender essential oil blend. To finish off the set they’ve included an organic 8x8-inch hemp washcloth.
The Wee Wild Baby Gift Box is only $26, a mild price for a shower gift compared to some of the wildly expensive gifts out there. You can purchase the Wee Wild Baby Gift Box from A Wild Soap Bar’s
website.

I should have featured this pair of simple teethers before Easter so your little one could have sunk her teeth into something while older siblings were sinking their teeth into all things candy coated!
Maple Landmark’s
natural unfinished teethers are perfect for little ones with sensitive gums (and are a much better option than foil-wrapped chocolate bunnies). These all-natural teethers contain absolutely no toxic chemicals and finishes. The smooth, rounded design is simple, which I think makes for the perfect teether. It seems the fancier a teether, the more my children ignored it!
Maple Landmark sells its natural unfinished teethers as a pair. Each one is sanded smooth to the touch, which ensures it is smooth to the mouth and gums as well. Each one measures about 3 1/2" in diameter and is 3/4" wide - large enough for your little one to grab it and hold it but small enough to make for a comfortable teether. You can purchase a pair of these sleek little teethers for $15 on Maple Landmark's
website.

Yes, I read
What to Expect When You’re Expecting while pregnant with all four children. While I think it's a great resource (I loved the other
What to Expect books as well), sometimes it’s nice to break from the norm and try something new.
Pea in a Pod: Your Complete Guide to Pregnancy, Childbirth & Beyond is a fairly new book on the pregnancy shelf, but it is worthy of note.
Author Linda Goldberg, a childbirth educator and lactation consultant, has packed
Pea in a Pod with a wealth of information you find in any pregnancy book - from birth plans and nutrition guides to detailed sections on labor and delivery. But Goldberg also covers alternative techniques like acupressure, visualization, and touch relaxation, and offers fun info such as the Navajo concept of a birth circle. Along with chapters on newborn care and breastfeeding you'll find a balanced discussion of co-sleeping and bed sharing, plus helpful hints for the father-to-be. (Trust me, they need them!)
Pea in a Pod also has more than 300 photos, illustrations and graphics, a glossary, trimester checklists and resource guide.
You can purchase
Pea in a Pod: Your Complete Guide to Pregnancy, Childbirth & Beyond for $12 from
Amazon.com.

I have never made the switch to glass bottles for a couple reasons. One, I only have one child still drinking from a bottle (she’s actually past due for a sippy cup); and two, those glass bottles are heavy and hard for little fingers to grip. So even though they are a safer alternative to the probably
not BPA-free bottles in my cupboard, I never made the change. Perhaps if Evenflo had come out with the
Classic Cozy glass bottle with Cozy insulator, I’d have made the switch.
The Classic Cozy glass bottle itself is BPA-free and comes with a custom-flow silicone nipple. But what I really love about this bottle is the soft, colorful Cozy Insulator, or sleeve, that comes with it. The sleeve is made from slip-resistant TPE material and improves impact resistance so that bottle is as safe for baby, if not safer, than a plastic one. The sleeve also has raised finger holds for easy gripping and easy on/off loops.
Those loops are probably my favorite feature because they let you easily see how much liquid is in the bottle. I did try Silikids’ Siliskin bottle but it was a bit difficult to get a full silicone sleeve on and off; plus it made it a little harder to see inside the bottle. I love the Cozy Insulator because it seems much easier to use.
You can purchase the new Evenflo Classic Cozy glass bottle with Cozy insulator in a 3-pack of 4-oz. or 8-oz. bottles. You can also purchase the Cozy insulator separately in six fun colors. You can pick up the 4-oz. bottle 3-pack for $10 from
Amazon.com.
