Great deals on Avent’s new BPA-free breast pumps

Great deals on Avent’s new BPA-free breast pumps
Amazon is running a promotion through the end of November on Avent products - spend $139 and receive $40 toward a future Amazon purchase.

Along with the promotion, there are currently sales on several Avent products through Amazon.

Newly-released BPA-free versions of the iQ UNO is on sale for $127, 15% off the regular price, and the new BPA-free version of the DUO is also 15% off at Amazon at about $297, down from $349. We're thrilled to see a BPA-free version of this pump - the iQ boasts an electronic memory, learning your pumping preferences as you go. It offers both plug-in and battery power.

Both models are available now with BPA, discounted even more deeply; if you're interested, you can search for those using our Amazon.com search box on the lefthand side of Polliwogged. Doing any or all of your Amazon.com shopping through Polliwogged's Amazon search box is a great way to support this site!

The two deals - BPA-free discounted pre-orders and the $40 gift certificate offer - appear to be incompatible.

Both pumps' shields and bottles contained BPA until just last month, so those sold at many stores and websites may still contain it for months to come. The way to tell the difference between the old polycarbonate (BPA-containing) ones and the new models is (a) in the store, they should say BPA-free on the packaging; or, (b) when buying online, product images should clearly show a slightly yellow tint to the plastic, indicating that it is PES (polyethersulfone) instead. For now, the fact that the BPA-free models are available only for pre-order on Amazon, shipping Dec. 7, is another easy indicator.

The company's Basic Baby Monitor is 8% off the regular price for $110. We'll leave the math to you to swing the credit arrangement with that one. This is the basic version of the monitor Polliwogged gave away last month - it uses DECT technology to continuously scan over 100 channels, ensuring a constant, clear signal and uninterrupted connection. It also features a sensor to monitor room temperature and several soothing lullabies for baby. (The ultra version of Avent's monitor is on Amazon, too, but currently only sold at $200, well above MSRP.)

Again, please be aware that the links we're providing go directly to the BPA-free versions - there are also BPA-containing ones on Amazon.com, so watch what you're buying!

I looked into doing this deal tonight, but I don’t think that the BPA-free items are included in the promotion. They’re not listed on the eligible items pages, nor is the promotion listed on the pages for those individual items. It makes me wonder if perhaps they’re doing the promotion to help clear out the old stuff.

Looks like you’re right. I’ve updated the post - thanks for pointing this out.
