A better way to combat morning sickness

A better way to combat morning sickness
I know I sound like my mother when I say this, but why didn’t they have as many nausea-fighting products when I was pregnant as they do now? From ginger elixirs to pregnancy pops, there’s a war on prenatal nausea. Fortunately, the products are winning.

The latest in the lineup is the Psi band, an FDA-cleared, drug-free wristband that helps relieve nausea, including that due to morning sickness ( as well as that caused by motion sickness, chemotherapy and anesthesia). Psi Bands are not only drug-free but also adjustable, waterproof, reusable and definitely more fashionable than your typical air-sickness bag.

The bands work using wrist acupressure, the ancient healing art whereby pressure is applied to specific points on the body to provide comfort and alleviate various symptoms. The pressure helps stimulate the body's natural ability to self-heal. Skeptical? Scientific studies actually support the use of wrist acupressure in the relief of nausea, and the research includes studies performed specifically in treating morning sickness.

To wear Psi bands simply place a band on each wrist, adjust the size, and then change the pressure by rotating the small dial. Where was that dial when I was pregnant with children number one, two, three and four? The adjustable nature of Psi bands will make them more comfortable for far more women than standard-issue pressure-point wristbands, which place more pressure on larger wrists because their grip is from a simple elastic band.

One pair of Psi bands? $16 on Amazon.com. Relief from nausea? Priceless. - Emily H.
