Pack n’ Play sheets as spare changing pad covers

Pack n’ Play sheets as spare changing pad covers
Newborn babies, and clever boy babies, are constantly making a mess during diaper changes. My son recently managed to pee all over the place while I was changing him twice in one day, so I was feeling a little miffed when I looked into the closet for something, anything, to place on the clammy naked changing pad. That’s when I spotted our infrequently used Pack n’ Play sheets. They are slightly too wide, but almost exactly the right length, for a standard changing table pad. If you tuck in the corners, they totally work in a pinch.

I would go so far as to say that if I had realized this sooner, I’d have sewn only one changing pad cover instead of two, to save me the time and fabric. Incidentally, I sewed them without a pattern and they are not perfect. If anyone knows of a quick, simple, and preferably free pattern for changing pad covers, I’d love to see it - please leave it in the comments!

Just the other day I saw a great free pattern at Celtic Cloths… you can find it at http://tinyurl.com/6sroul.
