Sweet handmade sibling shirts

Sweet handmade sibling shirts
In 2002 when my second child was about to be born, I dragged my cranky pregnant self all over my city and back looking for the smallest size "I'm a Big Brother!" shirt. The only one I could find was 2T, and it fit my eight-month-old like a dress!

If you find yourself in a similar situation of needing an atypical size for your Big Sibling or Little Sibling shirts, purchasing them handmade is the way to go.

Some of the nicest shirts I've seen are over at Ink Baby Designs. They have great styles and you can order them in a wide range of sizes. Onsies come in newborn to 18 months, and T shirts go from newborn to 4T.

If like me you have a need for a "Big" sibling shirt in the 6-9 months size, first of all: Congratulations! But secondly, be sure to make it clear that you really meant to order such a small size for your Big Sibling. It is my experience that many people will just assume you made a typo. I can't tell you how many times folks have "corrected" my middle child's birth year for me and then I have to go back and say, "Yes, I really have two kids born in 2002." But I digress...

The design of these shirts is a huge step ahead of the typically tacky ones I was able to find in the dark ages of 2002, plus you get to have the joy of buying something from a real person who crafted something just for your child.

Ink Baby Designs' sibling shirts are just $8.50 until October 17. Be sure to check out the rest of the items in her shop while you're there - she has a great eye for design, and I'm sure you'll find something you like. - Erika
